These torched copper bar earrings are handmade by my daughter, Catie, in Oregon, USA. She starts with copper sheet metal that she has cut into bars, then fires up her torch and heats them until they begin to turn color. She has coaxed out some beautiful bright copper tones, purplish blues and a hint of pink. These are unique and lovely earrings.
These earrings are approximately 1-3/8" (3.5 cm) long and are made of a fairly thick gauge of copper. The pieces of copper alone are only about an inch long, though, so they're not a heavy earring.
We've used niobium earwires on these copper bar earrings. Niobium is considered to be very hypoallergenic and will not turn your ears green.
The process turns out different with every piece of copper, but she matched the bars as closely as possible. We're at the mercy of the metal here, though, and there will be some differences between each pair of earrings.
This is pair number 1. The earrings in the first picture are the exact ones you will receive. The other pictures are several other pair of earrings so that you can see the differences in the patterns. I will get the first picture changed as soon as I realize that a pair of these has sold. If you buy more than one pair, you'll get several similar patterns of earrings, but all will be slightly different.
Thanks so much for supporting a ultra tiny family business!
